Welcome to Free Ride. We are a charitable bike workshop and membership programme based in Te Awa Kairangi ki Tai - Lower Hutt, NZ.   We are a volunteer organisation. We provide a range of free services, subsidised bike services and paid services. Please see our services below, event listings and opening hours.

  • Puncture repair workshop
    Puncture repair workshop
    13 Feb 2025, 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm
    Come and learn how to fix your own puncture with our community mechanic Martin. Martin can show you a range of skills to help you fix your own puncture, and prepare to get your hands greasy, because you'll be having a go. Bring your own bike or try on ours. Please RSVP to secure your spot.

  • E-bike Library group ride - Taita Rock and Motutawa
    E-bike Library group ride - Taita Rock and Motutawa
    16 Feb 2025, 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm
    This is the first ride of two required to qualify to join our e-bike library. An easy ride along The Beltway Cycle way and the Hutt River Trail. This is a great 10k ride and goes through Motutawa Avalon park, and shows a safe route back to Naenae.

    This is the second ride for those wishing to join the E-bike Library. We will extend from our first ride to (Taita Rock) to include some road riding and further distance. Tickets are free, but a booking is required.
